The cornerstones of the Galileo Summer Quest program are Majors, Leadership Crews and Clubs. At Galileo Summer Quest, you'll enjoy all three daily. Majors
Majors provide an opportunity to dive deeply into your subject of choice for 2 1/2 hours per day over two weeks. You'll design projects using high quality materials and technology, test ideas, and learn a ton! All majors culminate with a fun project you produce working with your peers. Gain fulfillment, confidence and knowledge from pursuing an area you're excited about with others who share similar interests. List of majors
Leadership Crews
Leadership Crews are a fun way to get to know other students at Galileo Summer Quest. You'll spend 75 minutes per day in Crews, and each crew will work closely together as a team to solve creative challenges throughout the session. At first, you'll learn more about each other and build team unity through games and practice challenges. Then your teamwork will be put to the ultimate test during a multi-day team design challenge project, complete with a budget and time constraints. For example: design an aqueduct system to transport two liters of water through the longest path possible, while losing as little water as possible!You'll be thrilled to see how much you can accomplish together, and you'll make some great new friends in the process.
Clubs
We're doing a lot during the day, so this is a time for you to unwind. We know that unstructured fun is a key part of an ideal summer. Choose your Club daily and spend 75 minutes in activities such as arts & crafts, outdoor sports or table games like ping pong and foosball. On Fridays, during Club time, we have a special celebration to recognize the hard work you put into Majors and Leadership Crews the rest of the week!
Parent Presentations on Friday
At the end of each two-week session, show off your projects from your Majors and solutions to our Leadership Crew design challenges. Parent Presentation schedules will be provided before summer sessions start.
